MILLENNIUM FIRST-HALF PORTFOLIO
Due Date: Tuesday, February 22
Grading: 30% of course grade.
The Components:
1) Millennium Bubblegum Cards [70%]: 14+ biographical cards about historical figures.
2) Discussion Topic Commentaries [30%]: Pick two of the first-half Discussion Topics and offer two well-integrated commentaries that combine a basic overview with your own analysis and interpretation. How would you outline the basic history involved? Is there a dominant theme that can be used to connect the readings? Are there issues that you would highlight? Recommended Length: 2 pages apiece
** Bonus Option: Students are encouraged to complete up to three extra Discussion Topic commentaries or Audio Responses. The mini-essays will be graded and add up to 2% apiece to your First Half Portfolio Grade. Recommended Length: 1 1/2 pages apiece
Textbook Assignment
Hand in any completed worksheets with your portfolio. Although this is not officially part of the portfolio assignment, you will be expected to complete 5 of these in the course of the semester for a B grade for the worksheet component (20%) and 8+ for an A grade.
