OSTIA ANTICA: USEFUL LINKS
For over 600 years Ostia was Rome's main port. Although much less famous than Pompeii, there is perhaps nowhere else where the archaeology of the ancient past is more fully preserved.

Arrival And Departure from Ostia, Antica: By train -- Take the metro to Piramide station (line B), then go up the escalator, turn left and go down the steps to the Roma-Lido station, where you can take a train to Ostia Antica. You can do the whole journey with a single metro ticket. The site is a 5 minute walk from the station.
