GALLIPOLI
The entire area southwest of Eceabat and Kabatepe is a national historical park. Anzac Cove and Ariburni were the sites of the first, failed Anzac landing.
Canakkale and Eceabat in the south of the peninsula make the best bases for exploring Gallipoli. Eceabat, 40 kilometers south of Gelibolu, is an unimpressive place. Modern Gelibolu town, at the northern end of the peninsula is too far away. Plan for a full day to see the major cemeteries and cenotaphs.
